Contact
You can email me at coop@jordoncooper.com or find me on GTalk as jordoncooper. I get a lot of email and often don’t have time to chat, but I do read everything that I receive and will try my best to respond.
To increase your chances of a reply, you might find the following helpful:
- Read the FAQ first…you’ll find it in the sidebar of the about page. The answer to your question might be there.
- When emailing, keep the "jordoncooper.com feedback" subject line intact and add your subject line on the end like so: "jordoncooper.com feedback – Today’s contextless links". DO NOT use subject lines like "Hi", "Hello", "Read this", or "Something for you"…they’re too commonly used by spammers, increasing the chance I will delete your e-mail before I read it.
- For some of the posts on my site, I turn on comments. If possible, respond to those posts by leaving a comment, not via email or GTalk. If you feel uncomfortable responding in public, comment anonymously or drop me an email. Please do not use comments as a general contact mechanism…that’s what email is for.
- Regarding IM: I’m not much of a chatter so email is generally preferred, but if you have a question or comment about something, I’ll try to answer it. If you do IM me, give me some idea of who you are (name, URL, etc.) so that I know who I’m talking to. Your chances of a response increase greatly if we’ve met, emailed, or IMed before, if we share a mutual acquaintance, or if I’ve recently linked to your web site. Also, do not add me to your IM list, forget about it, and then two months later, IM me asking, "hey, who is this and what are you doing on my IM list?"

Spam from this domain
I have posted about this before but some idiot spammer is using a fake @jordoncooper.com address as a return address to spam cell phones with. They are using a fake address and header so they don’t get tracked down and so they don’t have to deal with all of the angry e-mail about it or incur the wrath of those who are being charged by the message.
I have talked to my ISP about it and asked them to make sure there isn’t a security hole in WordPress or in my site that someone is exploiting. They looked into it and it isn’t coming from my domain.
When looking into the problem, I found this blog post from David Pogue of the New York Times on how to block cell phone spam. It blocks messages from the web while allowing SMS messages to go on through. This way it blocks the moron who is using my domain name in vain AND allows you to keep getting your SMS messages.
