@ work

I was going to post this yesterday but there was a lot to do, not a lot of time to do it and when I got home, Wendy and the boys wanted to take me out to dinner.  By the time we got home, had a talk with Oliver about him not being Spiderman so he needs to stop trying to climb on the walls and got Spidey to bed, it was time to get some sleep myself.

I took a job at The Lighthouse, which for those of you who know, it a shelter/assisted living residence in Saskatoon.  I have known some of the Lighthouse staff for years and had a good working relationship with many of them while I was at the Salvation Army.  In addition to that I know many of the residents and clients which makes the transition easier.

It’s still a big change from what I was used to and my role is different but if I can help out here, it’s a good thing.  There are also a lot of changes at The Lighthouse.  Mostly this…

Is turning into this… (or something like it… the final drawings look different but you get the idea)

Lighthouse conceptual drawings

It just about doubles the capacity, adds a bunch of new programs and enhances the programs that The Lighthouse already has.  It’s pretty exciting.  While the old Capri Hotel was worn out when it was given to The Lighthouse, it is being rejuvenated as well so that’s pretty cool.

As for the job, it’s evolving, I don’t have a job title yet but there are some cool ideas and projects to tackle.  It’s all good.

Very cool. And that’s not a reference to the temperature in your fair city. :-)
