Apparently this cruise ship isn’t that big. It’s heavier than any of the WWII battleships and until the U.S.S. Enterprise was launched, it was heavier than any previous U.S. warship. Of course it is a midget compared to the Oasis class of cruise ships. It’s like MacDonald’s took over the cruise industry.
At 86,000 tons, she’s anything but small. The TV star Pacific Princess “The Love Boat” was only 21,000 tons. Until the earlly ’90′s, the biggest ship in the world was The Norway (NCL) and the QU2 was only in the mid ’60′s. At some point, you’re not on a ship, just a long bridge between islands.
