Last Week at the Outfitters

Here are a couple of things that I posted to the Outfitters last week that caught my imagination.

  • Okay, for years I thought people who paid extra for Crocs brand sandals were idiots.  Why pay $40 when you can get the same thing for $7 at Wal-Mart?  I was in Sport Chek last week and they had some on for $5 and had my size (13 in case you were wondering).  I bought some and tried them on and within seconds I realized how much better they were then the cheap rip off brands I had used before.  Crocs has a new version made for life at the beach or on the boat and they feature sturdier construction, better fit, and antibacterial fibres that make Crocs the standard that we judge funny looking shoes by.
  • I do eat my own dog food around here and I bought a Kodak Zi8.  It replaces my Movie Pix HD which I was very happy with but I am blown away at the quality of the Kodak Zi8.  Not only is it a great piece of software but I become instantly fond of it’s built in editing software (Arcsoft MediaImpression Software).
  • Here is a fun gadget, the Oregon Scientific Handheld Weather Forecaster.  It’s about the size of a cell phone and the Handheld Weather Forecaster predicts what’s in store locally up to 24 hours in advance via easy-to-read animated icons displayed on the illuminated backlight.
  • Check out the Coghlan’s Sierra Saw.  It was one of those things that was never on my radar until we got one and it is incredibly handy at the lake.  It’s small enough that we keep one in our car emergency kits as well but I found that we used it a lot for trimming dead branches off trees to making some kindling for he camp fire.
  • While you are surfing along, you may want to check out Wendy’s post on the cabin blog about what we are doing with our front porch.

If you have any suggestions for the Outfitters, send them here.

Seriously, Crocs rule. I wear them to preach in!
