- The New York Yankees 2010 payroll is already at $200 million. Who in baseball other than Yankees fans is this good for? I guess I should stop complaining, it was $208 million in 2008. Compare this to the $30 million payroll that the Pittsburgh Pirates are paying this year. I’m angry at baseball and the pitchers and catchers haven’t even reported yet.
