High powered lasers are being used to blind pilots on landings in the GTA area. More than 85 per cent of the lasers that hit planes are green. Green lasers have a wave length that is near the limit of the human eye's peak sensitivity and are said to be 30 times more powerful than the traditional red lasers commonly used during boardroom presentations. Green lasers are used by astronomers to map out stars, and can be purchased on the Internet or in astronomy shops for $50 and up.
