I agree especially with your comment about what books I take the time to read. I read and buy much more selectively than I used to. I am a recovering used book store junkie. When I was in grad school if I saw a book for $1.50 I would buy it. Then I realized I was filling my library with poor books I would never get to reading.

Your comment on sticking to what we do well is much needed. But the lure of interviews, conferences draws many away from the work and ministry of the church. Wasn&#039;t part of the allure of Brian McLaren that here was a pastor with fresh ideas? Now he is no longer leading a church, leaving the pastorate for the author/conference circuit. The circuit must be more enticing than leading committees and calling on widows.</description>
