As is the long standing tradition around here, I am live blogging March 11. (2008 | 2007 | 2006 | 2005 | 2003)
6:20a :: Woke up sick and dehydrated. Fumbled around looking for the Carmex for my lips and some liquid to consume. My empire for a bottle of Gatorade. I had a discussion with one of my staff on how effective a humidifier was with my cough. I was saying that I didn’t think it made that big of difference but then Ollie started to hack and cough and so we gave it to him. With my body feeling like I had eaten one of those gel packs they put in shoes to suck up any moisture, I think it the humidifier makes a bigger difference than I thought.
7:00a :: Since I woke everyone up, they decided to give me my birthday presents. Wendy gave me the Hon. Eric Cline’s autobiography. Mark gave me Transporter 3 on DVD, Oliver gave me a copy of Mountain Bike Action and a wireless bike computer, while Maggi gave me a Mini Mag Lite. Thanks everyone.
7:20a :: Car wouldn’t start. It was -43 this morning in Saskatoon. Growing up March 11th meant that it was finally warm enough to wear t-shirts. Today if I had one of those bison coats from the 1800s, I would have worn it outside. Wendy realized she forgot to plug the car in last night so she was off to plug it in this morning
8:00a :: Lee called. He was in a bad car accident last night and had his car destroyed. He is okay but the car is totaled off. (Wendy saw him this afternoon, he was hurt me than he let on)
9:00a :: I was going to call in sick for work today but in the end the Expectorant, Advil, and Gatorade started to work and I felt okay to come in. One of my staff surprised me with a chocolate birthday cake.
9:15a :: Pipe burst at the Centre. Ugh.
10:00a :: One of my staff made me a chocolate birthday cake. Hmmmm, chocolate birthday cake.
10:30a :: Wendy called in sick for drop in centre. She just took Ollie and her to the doctor. News was good. It’s nothing serious but it is a horrible flu.
11:00a :: Two cars got hit in a hit and run in the parking lot. Thankfully my car was not in the parking lot at the time.
11:15a :: Police investigating hit and run. I made a funny joke about senior citizens and Lincoln Town Cars. Cop didn’t laugh.
11:30a :: Site is down. Dreamhost is saying I had a script gone bad. I am thinking of creating a new show called “Scripts Gone Wild” that shows drunken source code partying in Florida.
1:00p :: Management meeting
2:00p :: Missing coffee because I am in management meeting
3:15p :: Smelled smoke while in management meeting. Related to burst heat exchanger from this morning.
4:00p :: Wendy picked me up, headed to Indigo books for something to read on my way to Chicago on Friday. Wendy is sick, Ollie is sick. Mark is sick.
5:00p :: We are all too sick to go out for dinner so we ordered in Pizza Hut. Mark is too sick to eat pizza now and is just kind of laying beside me sick. Ollie has laryngitis. Babies with laryngitis are great to listen to.

You’re not following me anymore on twitter eh? So couldn’t dm you and tell you happy birthday…. at any rate… hope you have a great birthday bro! Best ever even.

Hi. Hope your birthday was great, other than being deathly ill of course.
Just wanted to ask if Lee is okay?
Hope things are well. I became a Grandma last Monday, not Scott, but my stepson Jamie. Had a little boy named Zack. I am very excited.
Take care.
