- How the Democratic Party is being split by Hillary and Obama :: The battle for the Democratic Party is so bitter because it is a battle over culture. Mrs Clinton's supporters look at Mr Obama's and see latte-drinking elitists. Mr Obama's supporters look at Mrs Clinton's and smell all sorts of ancestral sins, not least racism. The two groups neither like nor respect each other.

- Peak Oil in Seven Years? :: World demand for oil and gas will outstrip supply within seven years, according to Royal Dutch Shell. The oil multinational is predicting that conventional supplies will not keep pace with soaring population growth and the rapid pace of economic development. Jeroen van der Veer, Shell’s chief executive, said in an e-mail to the company’s staff this week that output of conventional oil and gas was close to peaking. He wrote: “Shell estimates that after 2015 supplies of easy-to-access oil and gas will no longer keep up with demand.” The boss of the world’s second-largest oil company forecast that, regardless of government policy initiatives and investment in renewables, the world would need more nuclear power and unconventional fossil fuels, such as oil sands.

- I was watching a show called Urban Explorers tonight and it featured two great buildings to explore in Buffalo, New York, the Buffalo Central Terminal and the Church of the Transfiguration. Oh to live in an older eastern city.

I've shot around the Buffalo Central Terminal, and it is absolutely fantastic. I see something different every time.
And... is the link to the CotT right? I seem to get an odd music video.

Buffalo also has Buffalo UU Church which has a set of catacombs under the streets around it. These are more like a "finished basement" and are used for church storage. This was the last stop on the "Second Underground Railroad". During the Vietnam War, draft refugees hid there, before heading into Canada.
I can't agree with the quoted article's assessment of the Democratic Party in general. The Obama fans I know would be happy to support Clinton in the general election. They're just happier supporting Obama instead. And more than a few suggest an Obama/Clinton ticket.
P.S. Funny you should mention eastern cities and urban exploration. Aren't you in the same province as Moose Jaw with its legendary rumrunner tunnels throughout the downtown core?
James, I am and I think I am checking them out this weekend.
