After I linked to the guy who had plagiarized my writings, I received several e-mails from people who had also used my photographs and writings for a variety of publications and purposes and hadn’t let me know.
To clarify this a little bit, I don’t mind that at all. When I publish something on my site, chances are that I am done with it and am working on something else. My blog and my photographs on Flickr are published under a Creative Commons license. You can use my stuff and make changes (preferably you take out the spelling mistakes) but please give credit where credit is due. I will say this though, sell my stuff without my permission and I will be in one foul mood. Some church consultants in the past have included my stuff in material they sold or have copyrighted my stuff themselves. As weird as you find this, my stuff is intentionally free and you need permission to sell it but not give it away. I do retain rights to my intellectual property under Creative Commons. If you do want to sell it, it doesn’t mean I will say no, it just means we need to talk.
If you do use my stuff, send me an e-mail and I can help let the world know what you are up to. That and I find it interesting to see how my photos and writings are used.
