Holy cats, that's hilarious!
that is excellent...nice
Amazing... I can't wait to drive by and see what's on their sign. :)
hmm...contextual reading of the scriptures might not be their strength.
What?
HUH?
It's in the bible, so it's God's word... right?
This could be the crown glory of the modern sermon style church...
Forget the context... it fits the sermon!
blessings,
iggy
Two to one odds its a ploy to get noticed. UCC using an Elizabethan translation of Scripture? Something going on in marketing...
They seemed to have taken that verse down...
blessings,
iggy
I understand that the church will be offering a statement soon on their website explaining that someone hacked into their system and put up that piece of scripture.
The quote that was on the site was an out-of-context reference from a biblical quotation engine on the web that was placed there by the webmaster...me. Out of context it seemed to fit the message, but unfortunately to my chagrin I did not take the time to review the full context of the quote there by causing this problem. As SOON as we were told about the error we removed the quote from the site. WE removed it. No hackers or anyone else was involved.
It's unfortunate but not surprising how much inaccurate information is spread through the blogosphere without any effort at all at validating the story.
Nice site!
