Chester and I have been gettiing into board games over the last few years, some really interesting ones from Germany. We like Ticket to Ride, a train building game. Blockus and Santiago are new ones I've heard are good. I reccomend shopping at jogocanada.com rather than Dragon's Den, you can get a bit of deal on the price (although you have to play shipping if you order less than a certain $$). Dragon's Den usually has some card games on sale at the front for like 10 bucks. We like Bohnanza and Bang. We also love Settlers of Catan.

My friends and family love Settlers of Catan. It takes all of the best parts of monopoly and risk, adds some nice twists, and keeps the game around 1-2 hours tops. It's also a very social game, so you're not just sitting there scheming the whole time.
