Wow

My dog just belched so loud, it woke Mark up and scared me. I don’t know if I should be afraid or proud.

Flickr: Disrupted Church

AKMA has started a “Disrupted Church” group over at Flickr.

Pomo, emergent, alt, or in any some other way disruptive discipleship and leadership. Mutually-respectful provocation across categories. No facile generalizations about “Gen X [Y, Z, or whatever],” no “change for change’s sake,” but earnest discernment about how to be church.

It looks like a good place to talk and learn. There are a couple of us belonging to the group now and the more the merrier. While you are hanging around Flickr, make sure you upload some pictures as well. It is fast becoming one of my favorite sites on the web.

Iraq war based on faulty intelligence: U.S. Senate

Mr. Roberts said frankly that he didn’t know whether the U.S. Congress would have voted for war had not the extent of Mr. Hussein’s threat been exaggerated, though he raised the possibility of the United States having waged a Kosovo-style humanitarian intervention in Iraq.

Mr. Rockefeller said that congress would have been unlikely to have approved the war without the persuasive case Mr. Bush made. ?It was a convincing case, it just happened to be a wrong case,? he said.

And outside of George Tenant stepping down, life goes on as usual and no one is really responsible.

a too late jumble of thoughts about leadership in the post-whatever

From Jen Lemen

the thing is no one really needs to only follow anymore. at least not in the way we’re used to thinking about it. we just need to hang around and not be considered a nuisance. there’s really no space for that in this world. especially if you’ve lost the ability to conceal that you’re difficult, too often crabby, aimless and desperate to please. so if you can find any place at all to be that, to do that, to have your mind returned to you so that you can think for a change, and about anyone else but yourself….well, then my friend, you are in fine shape indeed and god bless the man or woman who didn’t mind you trailing along wherever they wandered on their own journey while you sorted it all out. call them whatever you will…a cultivator, a sage, a savior, a pastor, a friend…without that kind of kindness we’d all be lost causes, soul sick and of no earthly good.
